Patrick Henry was an orator and politician from early Virginia who is perhaps best remembered for his moving speech above. Henry is addressing the Virginia Convention in March of 1775. Remember that at this time, colonial America is debating about whether a revolt against England will be necessary. Read Henry's speech and summarize his main points. Then, in a separate paragraph, respond to Henry's assertions. Do you agree or disagree? What points resonate the most to you?
